OUR SERVICES

12-Lead ECG

Your visit will begin with a brief consultation led by one of our cardiac technicians. This includes a quick check of your height, weight, and blood pressure, along with a few questions about your general lifestyle and health.

You’ll then be asked to lie down comfortably while electrodes are placed on your chest, arms, and legs. These sensors are used to record your heart’s electrical activity through a test known as an electrocardiogram (ECG).

The recording takes just a few minutes, during which you'll need to remain still to ensure accurate results. Once complete, your ECG is reviewed and analysed by a qualified healthcare professional.

Alivecor Event Monitor

We offer a personal portable heart trace monitor that pairs with your smartphone and fits discreetly in your pocket — designed to help you capture heart activity whenever symptoms arise, wherever you are.

You can take unlimited ECG recordings without the need for electrodes or adhesive patches. Simply use the device when symptoms occur and email your recordings directly to our clinical team.

This monitor is available on loan for up to 6 continuous weeks, giving you ample time to track intermittent symptoms and support your follow-up consultation.

Your submitted ECGs will be reviewed by our specialists and discussed with you at your next appointment.

Cardiology Assessment

During your cardiology assessment, you’ll first meet with one of our cardiac technicians who will carry out a basic evaluation. This includes measuring your blood pressure and performing a 12-lead ECG, also known as a heart tracing.

After this initial assessment, you’ll be seen by a heart specialist for a medical examination. Depending on your symptoms and clinical findings, you may be recommended for further investigations to support your diagnosis and treatment plan.

These additional tests may include a 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor, a one-week ambulatory ECG monitor, a six-week loan of an AliveCor event monitor that works with your smartphone, or a referral for an echocardiogram to assess your heart’s structure and function.

Ambulatory BP Monitor

We provide a portable blood pressure monitor that you wear for a full 24-hour period - whether at home, at work, or during your usual daily routine. This device records your blood pressure at regular intervals, giving a more accurate picture of how your blood pressure behaves throughout the day and night.

Once the monitoring period is complete, simply return the device to our clinic. Your readings will be securely downloaded and analysed by our clinical team, helping to inform your ongoing care and treatment plan.

Cardiology Follow-Up

After your initial consultation, you will be contacted for a follow-up, either face-to-face or by telephone, to review your results and assess your progress. This typically takes place six to eight weeks after your first appointment.

In some cases, you may receive a letter or phone call earlier if your results are available sooner or require prompt discussion.

Your GP will be updated within seven days of your appointment with us, ensuring continuity of care and timely communication.
