WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR AMBULATORY ECG MONITOR APPOINTMENT

  • Please attend your appointment wearing loose-fitting clothing, as the ECG device will be placed on your chest and torso.

  • Shower or bathe before your appointment, as depending on the type of ECG device provided, you may not be able to shower, bathe, or swim during the monitoring period. This will be explained by the cardiac technician.

  • Avoid using lotions or oily substances on your skin on the day of your appointment, unless medically necessary.

  • Be aware that chest hair may need to be removed to ensure the device functions correctly and adheres properly.

  • You must return the monitor on the agreed date to the same clinic where it was fitted. If you require alternative arrangements, these must be discussed and agreed with the cardiac technician in advance.

  • You will be asked to provide an emergency contact number (family member or friend) during your appointment. This is a precaution in case we need to reach you urgently during the monitoring period.
