ABOUT US

Heart Networks is proud to serve North, Central, and South Manchester as their Community Cardiology Service - rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are committed to delivering a first-class experience for every patient, offering comprehensive cardiology assessments and diagnostic services in a welcoming outpatient setting. Our clinic is conveniently located at Christie Way, Chorlton. We also run a limited satellite clinic from Manchester Institute of Health & Performance (Openshaw).

Led by GP Specialists, Heart Networks operates in partnership with NHS Manchester Foundation Trust to help reduce waiting times for patients with less complex cardiac symptoms. We provide expert cardiology assessment, diagnostics, and management - all within the community. Following your appointment, a detailed management plan is shared directly with your GP. If further investigation or specialist intervention is required, we ensure seamless onward referral to Secondary Care Cardiology Services.

PATIENT JOURNEY

At Heart Networks, we offer two types of outpatient appointments: Diagnostic and Assessment.

Diagnostic Appointments

These are single-visit appointments where you’ll be fitted with a cardiac monitoring device. Once your test is complete, the results are sent directly to your GP for review. (Learn more).

Assessment Appointments

These begin with a consultation led by one of our experienced cardiac technicians. You’ll undergo a basic evaluation, including blood pressure monitoring and a 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG or 'heart tracing').

Following this, a cardiology specialist will carry out a medical examination. If further testing is needed to support your diagnosis and treatment plan, we aim to complete these investigations either on the same day or within three weeks, depending on availability.

📅 Flexible Scheduling & Cancellations

We operate a cancellation list for patients who are able to attend at short notice. If a slot becomes available for the same type of appointment, we’ll prioritise those on the list. While cancellations are not guaranteed, joining the list may help you be seen sooner.
